DIRECT VENEER PREPARATION, REPLACEMENT OF A BROKEN INCISOR

Replacing a broken tooth using ceramic veneers

Unexpected accidents can also affect our teeth, and for this we do not necessarily have to suffer a serious, traumatic injury. It is enough to carelessly bite into a small piece of walnut shell, or to use our teeth as a tool to open some kind of packaging, so that smaller or larger pieces break off and bounce off our incisors.

Smaller injuries are often not particularly painful, but they definitely represent a serious aesthetic problem, since any change affecting our smile is extremely noticeable to any outside observer. In addition, the surface of the fracture is often so sharp that it can cause unpleasant injuries to our lips and tongue.

Fortunately, such cases can be treated very effectively. The materials and techniques available in dentistry enable the perfect reconstruction of damaged, broken teeth. Depending on the extent of the damage, the aesthetics of chipped teeth are most often restored with the help of direct veneers.

In which cases do we recommend making direct veneers?

  • In case of broken or chipped teeth
  • To restore badly worn chewing edges
  • In case of minor damage to tooth enamel

How are direct veneers made?

The direct shells are made of light-binding, composite material. It is a soft, malleable material that can be shaped and layered as desired. After proper preparation of the tooth surface, depending on the size and location of the part to be replaced, the composite is applied to the tooth in several layers. The color of the composite is chosen so that the end result perfectly matches the original color of the tooth. This can often only be achieved by combining and layering several colors. A properly made direct shell achieves its goal in terms of color and design if it is practically impossible to notice. All this requires only one appointment, and the treatment is not painful at all.

Flowable Injection Techique

A more affordable alternative to direct veneers is a liquid composite technique, which can help a chipped tooth or a discolored tooth surface. You can extend the life of your teeth both functionally and aesthetically with proper oral hygiene care.

Liquid composite can also be used to create a beautiful smile instead of direct ceramic veneers. After taking an impression of the patient's teeth, silicone is applied to the teeth, which can be used to assess the current condition. And the liquid composite can fit perfectly and correct the defects of the tooth surface.

An additional advantage is that the patient can try the so-called template direct veneer alternative until you are 100% satisfied with it. If it is definitely suitable for the patient, the final direct veneer is applied.
